Cawthorn Joins HEAT
U.S. Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) today announced that he has joined the House Energy Action Team. The HEAT team was launched in 2011 by U.S. Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA) to promote energy policies that will address rising energy prices, create thousands of good jobs and enhance our national security by promoting energy independence for America.
“I used my speech at the Republican National Convention to encourage conservatives to define what we support and win the argument in areas like the environment. That’s precisely what I intend to do as a member of the HEAT team. Smart energy policy is good for the economy and our environment. I can’t wait to deliver that message to a new audience and new generation,” Cawthorn said.
“Too many younger Americans have been misled by the Green New Deal, which is a socialist manifesto more than a climate proposal,” Cawthorn continued. “The GND’s reckless energy policies would punish American workers while allowing China to pollute at will. The Biden administration and congressional Democrats like to talk about environmental justice but there is nothing just about increasing energy prices for low-income American families while rewarding a communist regime that puts its critics in concentration camps.”
“From his strong commitment to delivering results for workers and families in Western North Carolina to putting America first, Congressman Cawthorn is a welcome addition to the House Energy Action Team,” said House Republican Whip Steve Scalise. “Joe Biden’s far-left policies have weakened the United States’ energy security and raised prices for hard-working Americans while eliminating millions of good-paying jobs. Congressman Cawthorn will work hard to defeat Democrats’ socialist agenda and reestablish our energy dominance that flourished under President Trump.”
