I have been busy in Washington over the past couple of weeks! It's been a whirlwind. I introduced a crucial new piece of legislation on banning vaccine mandates, spoke several times on the U.S. House floor, and joined the Freedom Caucus! I am excited to escape the madness of the swamp this week and return home to the mountains of the 11th district.

Last week I hosted a press conference with fellow Republicans to talk our how our first responders should not be getting fired for refusing the vaccine. These mandates are sheer tyranny.
Under Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate, “Defunding the Police” has devolved into “Defunding First Responders.”
No matter how many shots you take you are still able to get COVID-19, these mandates only serve as a way to oppress Americans and strip them of their freedoms.
Mandates are a horrible crime against people who face losing their life-long careers and pensions for standing up to government control. Watch my remarks at the press conference below.

My Introduction to the Freedom Caucus

I'm proud to announce that I have joined the most conservative group of legislators on Capitol Hill and I am looking forward to working with them to deliver results for you.
Liberty and freedom must be defended in the People’s House by patriots who are unafraid to challenge the status quo and stand for what is right, the Freedom Caucus does just that. I ran to change the way Congress does business. That means upholding promises made to the American people, not selling out to the Swamp.
Although I have only been in Washington for a short period of time, I have learned that fighters must stand together and defend America. I’m proud to join the Freedom Caucus, and I will work relentlessly to defend the will of the American people who sent me to Washington to fight for them.

While we were in session, I introduced the “Justice for All Businesses Act,” (JAB Act), which prohibits the Secretary of Labor from enforcing any government mandate requiring employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The bill also prohibits the Secretary of Labor from fining businesses who violate the mandate for vaccination or testing against COVID-19.
Forced injections mandated by the federal government are nothing short of subsidized medical apartheid. There is nothing American about ripping financial stability away from the American people simply because they choose to make medical decisions for themselves. I’m proud to introduce this bill denying the federal government and Joe Biden the chance to trample on Americans any further. This is not a matter of health, it’s a matter of liberty. There are patriots across the nation who would rather see their jobs ripped away from them than lose their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I stand with them to defend freedom at all costs.

Energy Dominance is Vital to Americans' Financial Stability

I had a column published recently explaining how the Biden Administration's disastrous energy policies are making every American suffer the consequences.

"Show me a nation’s energy policies, and I’ll show you the future of that nation. It’s the lifeblood of any country; it fuels our direction and defines our foothold on the world stage.
When I filled up my truck in Hendersonville last week, I paid $81. That’s a lot of money, but had I filled up at one gas station in California, it would have cost me $200. That’s because one town has been forced to charge $8 per gallon, nearly three times what North Carolinians are paying. But soon, nationwide gas prices could inch closer to California’s numbers, and Americans will all be left shouldering the burden."

DEADLINE TODAY: Residents of Buncombe, Haywood and Transylvania counties who were impacted by Tropical Storm Fred have until Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, to apply for assistance from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
You can register with FEMA in several ways: Go online toDisasterAssistance.gov, call 800-621-3362, or use the FEMA app for smartphones. If you use a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone service, or others, give FEMA the number for that service. Lines are open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. local time, seven days a week.
Nov. 8, 2021, is also the deadline for homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofits to apply to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for low-interest disaster loans for physical property and personal property damage.
You may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via the SBA’s secure website atdisasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ or by visiting a Business Recovery Center. Paper applications may be requested by calling the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 TTY) or by sending an email to [email protected].
SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available to businesses and private nonprofit organizations of any size in Buncombe, Haywood, and Transylvania counties. The deadline to file economic injury applications is June 8, 2022.
There is no cost to apply for assistance from FEMA or the SBA.
So far FEMA has approved more than $18.73 million in emergency relief for the state. More than $3.04 million in FEMA Individuals and Households grants have been approved for 2,553 homeowners and renters. Apply now to receive help after the catastrophic flooding NC-11 faced.
